Objective awarded US Defence Certification

 • 11 May, 2004 09:30

Leading enterprise content management (ECM) company, Objective Corporation (ASX:OCL), today announced that its records management application had been tested and certified by the US Department of Defence (DOD) against the military records management specification, US DOD 5015.2-STD.

The specification defines exhaustive requirements based on operational, regulatory and legal needs that must be met by Records Management Application (RMA) software used by the DOD and related agencies.

“Government and business organisations world-wide face increasingly stringent security compliance requirements in the area of records management,” said Mr Walls, CEO Asia Pacific, Objective Corporation.

“Where compliance with DOD 5015.2 is mandatory for RMAs in US Defence organisations, the standard is increasingly being adopted throughout government generally and by private sector companies.

“The achievement of this certification is an illustration of Objective’s commitment to customers operating in high security environments in defence, law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

“As the company expands its international footprint, compliance with key international standards for records management will continue to be crucial in gaining new customers,” said Mr Walls.

This is the second time Objective has achieved DOD 5015.2 certification. The standard’s requirements have evolved since Objective’s initial certification in 2000.

“Objective continues to invest in research and development and release products that comply with standards as they emerge and evolve. DOD 5015.2 certification is a demonstration of our strong commitment to compliance to international standards for records management and enterprise content management more broadly,” said Mr Walls.
