Telstra to host collaborative research conference

Telstra will host a conference in Sydney on August 19 that will explore collaboration across the industry and academic sectors of ICT research in Australia.

The conference will address the models for research collaboration, as well as identifying areas of potential strength where research collaboration will yield strong commercial outcomes.

Telstra Research Laboratories managing director Hugh Bradlow believes that while Australia has many areas of ICT research strength, a greater return on research is necessary to create confidence in the nation’s ICT research output.

“Australia is well known for its capacity to adopt technology very early, and we know that we have an extremely talented research community,” Bradlow said.

“We believe that through better coordination in identifying research priorities and effective models for collaboration, Australia could take its place in the world more confidently.”

The conference will include international experts as well as leaders in ICT research across industry, government and academia. More information at http://www.telstra.com.au/trl/ict_conference.htm
