A further eight NT councils ink $6.5 million software contract

Covers a five year period

Joining more than 200 councils already using TechnologyOne software, eight municipalities in the Northern Territory have inked deals with the enterprise software provider worth more than $6.3 million.

ASX-listed TechnologyOne Ltd today announced it will supply and install software systems across eight NT ocal government shires over a five year period.

As part of the contract, TechnologyOne will provide its Financials, HR & Payroll, Works & Assets and Property solutions along with implementation and project management services.

TechnologyOne will also partner with InfoVision, Infosphere and Resolute IT to deliver further functionality across the shires.

The new software solutions will enhance the way that local government operates in the Northern Territory by streamlining processes and improving the way councils deliver services to their constituents.

NT Local Government Minister, Rob Knight, said it will improve efficiency and reduce costs enabling councils to deliver better services to stakeholders.

He said new software systems were part of the job of getting on with fixing governance and service delivery problems in the bush.

"These solutions are designed to support core local government business by providing a framework for sound financial management and enabling easy, quick and accurate reporting," Knight. said.

"The new technology will make local governments more effective - delivering better results for our remote communities."

The project will enable TechnologyOne to leverage its success in delivering LG ONE in Queensland which involved deploying products and services in remote areas through a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. Implementation is being delivered in conjunction with TechnologyOne's LG ONE partner Resolute IT.

TechnologyOne chairman, Adrian Di Marco, said the company is certainly well established in the local government sector.

"We've been working with the local government sector for 15 years and provide our integrated suite of enterprise solutions to more than 200 local councils across Australia and New Zealand," he said.

TechnologyOne was established 20 years ago and has won a number of new local government contracts since the beginning of 2008.

Earlier this month, TechnologyOne secured three contracts to provide Adelaide Airport, Marrickville City Council and The Barossa Council with its Performance Planning solution.

The solution is a Web-enabled strategic planning and corporate performance management (CPM) solution.

This win was in addition to signing up two municipalities in Western Australia at the end of January, 2008.
