Nokia N97 opens the door to Ovi Store

<p>Sydney, Australia – Nokia Australia today launched the highly-anticipated Nokia N97 and showcased its new
Ovi Store - store.ovi.com - at a media event in Sydney.
Nokia’s flagship mobile computer will be widely available in Australia from mid July and is the first device to
ship with Ovi Store, which offers easy access to applications, games, videos, podcasts, web and locationbased
services, and much more.
The Nokia N97 features a tilting 3.5” touch display and QWERTY keyboard, a five megapixel camera with
integrated Carl Zeiss optics, and 32GB built-in storage. The handset’s customisable home screen brings live
widget feeds such as key social networking destinations, news services, shopping, sport and weather
information direct to the device.
Nokia Australia’s managing director, Emile Baak, said: “The convergence of the Internet, mobility and
context-awareness is changing the way people communicate, share, search and consume information.
“The Nokia N97 delivers on our promise to create a highly personalised Internet experience similar to what
you would expect from a PC, but with the benefits of mobility and immediacy,” Mr Baak said.</p>
<p>Launched in May 2009, Ovi Store reached 131 countries within the first 24 hours and users from over 170
countries now have an active Ovi Store account. Ovi Store continues to enjoy significant growth in terms of
reach and content.</p>
<p>Ovi Store has paid and free content from a range of global and local content providers.</p>
<p>Global partners include Paramount, Facebook, MySpace, Disney, eBay, Fox Mobile, Reuters, AccuWeather and
EA. Local content providers supporting Ovi Store include ABC, Austereo, News Digital Media and
Lookoutmobile, which offers AFL and NRL updates.</p>
<p>“Ovi Store is a constantly evolving service for consumers and we believe that providing engaging and locally
relevant content is extremely important to its success,” Mr Baak said.</p>
<p>The Nokia N97 will be available through Optus, Vodafone and selected retailers and will have an RRP of
AUD$1,129.</p>
<p>In addition to the Nokia N97, Ovi Store is now accessible from over 75 Nokia devices in five languages.
The Australian Ovi Store supports operator billing through Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Crazy John’s. Credit
card billing is available through the mobile application and the mobile website (store.ovi.com).</p>
