Logica inks CrimTrac deal

Logica wins tender to deliver, operate and manage crime prevention agency's ICT infrastructure.

CrimTrac has awarded Logica a multi-million dollar contract to deliver, operate and manage its ICT infrastructure.

As the Australian Government agency in charge of technical systems to assist police with the prevention of crime, CrimTrac’s IT services continuity program manager, John Forrest, said that Logica will provide business continuity capabilities and disaster recovery programs as well as enhancing the reliability of Crimtrac’s system.

Logica will install an enterprise-wide ICT midrange infrastructure and consolidate CrimTrac's IT architectures with VMware, EMC, Oracle and Microsoft.

CrimTrac CEO, Ben McDevitt, said that Logica was awarded the contract following a competitive tender process. Logica will also build IT systems for two data centres.

The new infrastructure is expected to be up and running in April 2010 and Logica will administer and manage the new environment for at least a further three years.
