Macquarie University will today put the finishing touches on its $8.5 million investment in wireless infrastructure across its Sydney campus.
The OneNet.Wired project will see a 10-fold increase in speed across the network and the capacity to go 100 times faster to the desktop. The project has already resulted in a 75 per cent decrease in operational incidents this year.
The campus' 14,451 wired outlets will benefit from the $8.5 million dollar investment, which was pioneered by 25 staff members over a period of three years.
CIO of the University, Marc Bailey, has documented the project's progress on the University's website and his blog.
