Yahoo to lose three executives

Hilary Schneider, who heads the North American business, is the most senior of the three to depart

Yahoo confirmed that the head of its North American business, Hilary Schneider, plans to leave the company.

According to a report in the AllThingsD blog, two other top executives are leaving as well.

Yahoo reported Schneider's move in an 8-K filing, saying she will leave after a transition period.

Yahoo Audience head David Ko and Vice President of Media Jimmy Pitaro will also move on, according to a memo from Carol Bartz, Yahoo CEO, that AllThingsD posted on its site.

Yahoo did not reply to a request for comment.

In the memo, Bartz explained that each executive is leaving for different reasons. She did not say what any of them planned to do next.

The company hopes to announce a new head for the Americas region by the end of the year, she said.

The departures are the latest blow to Yahoo, which has been working on a turnaround. The company has just begun executing on its 10-year partnership with Microsoft, which involves Microsoft's Bing search engine powering Yahoo search. As part of the deal, Yahoo has also started using Microsoft's AdCenter advertising platform for self-service search ad sales.
