NAB updates IT issues

Payments expected to be processed today, says NAB

St George bank is advising customers of potential delays in processing transactions from NAB accounts.

National Australia Bank (NAB) has provided an update to its current IT issues, informing customers that delays in payments are expected to be cleared up late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

The update, posted on the bank’s Twitter account this morning, states, “We’ve processed all transactions from Wed. This had delayed some payments made yesterday, which will be processed during the day today.”

In addition, the bank advised that it was moving to provide customers with "immediate access" to delayed funds.

"Update: If individual customers need immediate access to funds delayed by processing issues, our branch staff will be able to assist," the post reads.

The updates follow the exposure of the bank’s technical issues yesterday, which froze most payments and delayed transactions into NAB accounts and services, including EFTPOS and ATMs.

NAB customers were not the only ones hit by the computer glitch; the NAB’s payroll system was also affected, resulting in some staff having their pay delayed.
