CommBank: Netbank transfers fixed

CommBank says BPay and funds transfers now working following Tuesday's outage

The Commonwealth Bank (CBA) has confirmed that outstanding issues with its online banking portal NetBank have now been resolved.

In a customer update, the bank said yesterday’s issues with funds transfers and BPay payments not going though have been fixed.

“Some personal account holders were unable to transfer money or pay bills on Tuesday 1st March 2011 using NetBank, Mobile Banking and Telephone Banking,” the update read.

“This issue has now been resolved and transactions can now be completed with all Commonwealth Bank services back to normal.”

Yesterday afternoon the bank advised customers that “some" personal account holders are still unable to transfer money or pay bills.

"Please note that our contact centres are currently experiencing a large number of calls and you may have difficulty getting through to one of our staff members," the statement read. "If you need to make an urgent funds transfer please visit your local branch.

"In addition, some NetBank scheduled payments due today have been delayed and will be completed later today. Please consider this when you do your banking.

"Delayed scheduled transactions will appear under 'Future Transactions' when you logon to NetBank until processing is complete."

Australia Post also reported issues with the CBA, stating that EFTPOS was also being affected.

"Only CBA customers banking transactions, deposit/withdrawal/balance enquiries, & EFTPOS are being impacted," Australia Post advised.

It has since advised that all banking and EFPTPOS services have returned to normal from yesterday's "glitches".

CBA ATMs were also affected by the glitch, resulting in customers being allowed to withdraw more money than was in their accounts, where two men have been charged by police for dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.
