Recruitment company Seek (ASX:SEK) has confirmed the impending resignation of its CIO, Carey Eaton, effective mid July of this year.
“Carey Eaton will return to his home country of Kenya with plans to pursue personal business opportunities,” the firm said in an ASX statement. “An executive search has already commenced to secure a replacement CIO for Seek.”
Eaton first joined the firm back in 2007 as product director and moved into the CIO role in September 2008.
In August last year, the firm’s financial results for the year to 30 June 2010 reported Eaton had picked up an extra $168,000 over the 12 months, with the firm’s revenues and profits performing well, making him one of Australia’s better-paid CIOs.
Throughout financial year 2010, Eaton picked up a total of $476,182 in benefits, composed of $270,000 worth of salary and the rest in bonuses, superannuation and shares. During the previous year he made $308,103 — although he only joined the company partway through the year, in September 2008.
Throughout his tenure at the recruitment company, Eaton was responsible for the IT functions across a number of Seek’s sectors including, employment, education and also consulting with the firm’s international business.
