Foster's appoints new CIO

The appointment follows the resignation of the company's previous CIO over five months ago

Australian brewing company, Foster’s Group, has appointed Dean Matthews to the role of CIO, effective 23 May this year.

Matthews’ appointment follows the company’s five month long search for new CIO following the departure of Andrew Leyden in 2010 four years after he took up the position in 2006.

“He is a proven CIO holding a demonstrated track record in leading large scale organisational change, having managed major IT integrations, mergers & acquisitions and other complex and strategic projects,” the company said in a statement.

Matthews has had approximately 20 years experience within industries including healthcare, finance, retail, consulting and toll road sectors. He has held senior technology and executive roles with FCPB Investments, Transurban, Linfox Group and MLC Lend Lease.

Donna Watt has been acting CIO since December 2010 and will remain in the role until Matthews takes up the position.
