Astaro nabs SonicWALL staff while TechnologyOne hires higher education expert

Astaro Corporation

Internet security firm, Astaro Corporation, has made two new senior hires with two former SonicWALL employees, Karen Delaney to country manager and Troy Cunningham to presales manager for the Pacific region.

Delaney leaves her role at SonicWALL where she held the position of channel manager in Australia and New Zealand, and will help to expand on channel partnerships further in the A/NZ region.

Prior to Astaro, Delaney headed up her own IT recruitment company and held various senior channel roles within IBM, Acer and Epson in the UK.

Cunningham brings extensive engineering and presales experience in the IT security sector from his prior role as a systems engineer for SonicWALL in A/NZ.

“IT security continues to grow and evolve as more and more top-level enterprise features filter down into our wider product range," Cunningham said in a statement.

"It’s a great time to be joining the Astaro team."

Both will meet with industry Astaro head of Asia Pacific region, Norbert Kiss, later this month to gain insight into the wider regional picture for the company and develop plans for the Australian market.

TechnologyOne

Enterprise software solutions provider, TechnologyOne, has appointed Wayne Oswin as its new solutions manager for the higher education sector.

In the role, Oswin will drive the development of the company’s enterprise software solution designed to specifically address the unique needs of the tertiary and vocational education sectors.

He will also work closely with the research and development, service delivery, and sales and marketing teams to develop services tailored to the higher education sector.

Oswin brings 20 years of experience within the education software industry, ten of which were spent leading the development and deployment of a number of key web-based information management systems at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

During his time at QUT, Oswin was part of the management team responsible for launching and rolling out the Student Management System, which TechnologyOne was also involved in, resulting in improved accessibility of the QUT’s online administration services.

“This new position will enable me to use the experience and knowledge from previous roles ... that will have a real impact on the way the education sector does business,” Oswin said in a statement.

Commenting on the appointment, TechnologyOne executive chairman, Adrian Di Marco, said Oswin’s previous experience and market knowledge made him an ideal choice to join the TechnologyOne.

“Wayne has a vast amount of experience building solutions to meet the unique requirements of the education industry,” Di Marco said.

“His technical knowledge of the sector and ability to understand industry drivers made him the obvious choice for this position.”
