Managed services provider Fujitsu A/NZ has scored a $25 million contract with NBN Co for the provision of end user technology services (EUTS) over three years to the company's staff.

The agreement includes desktop support, service management and monitoring and has the potential to extend from three to five years as NBN Co moves ahead with plans to open offices in regional locations.

The deal follows the $100 million contract win by Fujitsu in May this year, to roll out part of the National Broadband Network's (NBN) fibre infrastructure to housing estates with over 100 premises, with Fujitsu responsible for the design, construction and associated works for the deployment.

Commenting on the contract, NBN Co head of operations, Steve Christian, said over a two year period the company had established a number of key supplier relationships and put in place most of the major components for the rollout and future operations of the business.

Fujitsu A/NZ managed services group executive director, Tim White, said while NBN Co was primarily a Microsoft environment, its executives were all issued with iPhones, which would be included in Fujitsu’s support arrangements.

NBN Co has been contacted for comment but has yet to respond.
