Minter Ellison rolls out video collaboration

Law firm CIO turns to HD telepresence as part of 'One Firm' strategy

Law firm Minter Ellison will bolster collaboration across its Asia-Pacific operations with a new video-based collaboration and knowledge sharing platform.

Minter Ellison CIO, Peter Westerveld, said the project would allow staff in Australia, Hong Kong, China, New Zealand and the United Kingdom to work together seamlessly across regions as part of the organisation’s ‘One Firm’ strategy.

“A key focus for us is to ensure that all our people — regardless of which office they are located in — are seamlessly integrated and working as ‘One Firm’ to deliver a superior client experience,” Westerveld said.

The law firm chose to roll out Cisco technology: High-definition telepresence, unified computing systems, real-time social networking and a content management system.

“With Cisco business video and data centre virtualisation technology, we’re making it easier for them [staff members] to connect, collaborate and share information across the whole of the firm for the benefit of our clients.”

Minter Ellison has about 290 partners and 1000 legal staff and clients include multinationals, Fortune 500 companies and government organisations.
