Vodafone to offer iPad 2

Exact pricing of Apple iPad unknown, available on contact or for outright purchase

Vodafone has announced it will offer Apple's iPad 2 tablet, with the device available on a 12- or 24-contact or for outright purchase.

Wi-Fi only and 3G models of the iPad 2 will be offered on the network, with Vodafone indicating that it will reveal exact pricing for all options “in the coming weeks”.

Vodafone’s head of devices, Ross Parker, said the network was in a good position to host the device, with network upgrades enabling better customer engagement.

"The iPad 2 with Wi-Fi +3G works with both our new 850[MHz] network and our existing network to give customers a better all-round experience,” Parker said.

“We’re ahead of schedule on our new network rollout and with the $1 billion investment we are making in our network, customer experience is improving.”

The iPad 2 which was launched in March this year, is the second big Vodafone announcement this week, with its parent company VHA announcing it will no longer be signing up new 3 customers.
