NetApp opens new Brisbane office

Storage vendor aims to better support Queensland customers and channel partners

NetApp’s Queensland presence is getting a boost with the opening of a new office in Brisbane.

The storage vendor has set up the office to meet the demand generated by its growing channel partner network in the state.

While NetApp has had a presence in Brisbane since June 2007 following the appointment of a single state sales manager, NetApp Asia Pacific vice-president and general manager, Simon Green, paints a different picture five years later.

“That single appointment has now grown to 14, with plans to further invest in additional resources to help support a diverse customer portfolio and to assist in partner enablement,” he said.

"Our confidence in the Queensland market is further encouraged by the expansion of our partner community there from one to 15 certified resellers in less than five years."

The growing presence of NetApp’s partner community in Queensland is also benefiting the region.

“The local partner community of 15 certified resellers in total employ well over 400 Queensland-based employees,” Green said.

The opening was officiated by the Hon. Ros Bates, MP, Minister for Science, IT, Innovation and the Arts, who commended NetApp on doubling its Brisbane staff in the past 12 months.
