US mobile device management (MDM) company Zenprise has appointed Melbourne-based John Martens as Australia and New Zealand country manager following its expansion into the region in October 2012.
Martens was previously Zscaler’s Pacific region director, a role he held for three years. This followed four years in senior sales and general management roles with Cisco IronPort.

According to Martens, Zenprise A/NZ has already concluded “several sales” to financial, transportation and service industry companies.
“In the few short weeks since we started here, the momentum has been little short of frantic and 19 resellers have been quick to come on board,” he said in statement.
He added that companies are using Zenprise offerings to address security issues around mobile devices, including bring your own devices (BYOD) in mixed business and personal use environments.
In addition, the vendor has appointed Ashley Armitt as A/NZ sales engineer. Based in Sydney, he has worked on projects with telecommunication companies including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone Australia and Telecom New Zealand.
According to Zenprise, more A/NZ appointments will be made in early 2013.
