A tender has been issued for electronic news and media services for the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
The tender includes the provision of an electronic media monitoring news service for ABS staff to build on its existing services to include online publisher content, social media content in full and transcripts from television and radio and Internet commentary.
Staff are expected to be able access material from different devices. Access from mobile devices and real-time updates are preferable.
During high periods of use 200 to 500 staff may access content at any one time, with a total of 3500 ABS staff.
The successful tenderer must provide monthly statistical reports to the ABS, including a breakdown of monthly costs of the system, must manage intellectual property rights and also provide training to some staff.
The ABS currently has access to electronic news content which is provided by a vendor.
The three-year can be extended a further two years.
The tender closes 24 January, 2013.
