ipernica provides update on Oracle case

Technology IP company ipernica (ASX:IPR) has revealed that it had so far fended off requests by Oracle to transfer a court case it is helping to prosecute.

ipernica has been hired to help the Melbourne-based Financial System Technologies defend two of its US database patents against alleged unauthorized use by Oracle.

Oracle has been attempting to have the case transferred to California, but a Texas court denied the transfer.

Oracle asked the federal circuit court to demand the transfer, but this request was also denied on May 19.

But Oracle has also filed a motion requesting the initial court reconsider its decision.

FST has indicated it was confident it could resist the transfer, ipernica said.
