World Reach unit wins Inmarsat contract

ICT vendor World Reach has announced that its subsidiary Beam Communications has been contracted to develop docking units for Inmarsat’s upcoming IsatPhone Pro satellite phone.

As well as a standard docking unit, Beam will also produce vehicular an maritime versions, and one to accommodate indoor use.

Inmarset will lend Beam up to US$3.2 million ($3.5 million) to fund product development and working capital costs as part of the deal.

World Reach said it expected initial sales of US$7 million over a two-year period.
