Country Road sales grew 12.6% in 1H10

Clothing retailer Country Road (ASX:CTY) has announced that 1H10 sales grew 12.6% y-o-y to $196.8 million.

The company took in $153.4 million from retail sales – an 18% increase from 1H09 – and $44.1 million from concession sales.

Acting CEO Glenn Gilzean said the reporting period “saw a tough and competitive environment [which] placed pressure on margins as we sought to compete.”

He warned that he expects a challenging six months ahead, but does anticipate “single digit” sales growth.
