Downer EDI secures $400m worth of new contracts

Engineering and infrastructure service provider Downer EDI (ASX:DOW) announced it had secured $400 million worth of new contracts from several major engineering projects.

The new business won includes a two-year, $170 million contract with Wesfarmers Curragh and $70 million worth of electrical contracts for Woodside’s Pluto LNG project.

“We also have further grown our long-term relationship with BHP Billiton, securing contracts totalling more than $90 million with [its iron ore division], Downer CEO Geoff Knox said.

Knox added that the company currently has over $16 billion worth of work-in-hand.
