ICT hardware and service provider World Reach said its subsidiary, Beam Communications, has entered into an agreement with Mobile Tracking and Data (MTData) to develop GPS tracking and fleet management solutions.
Under the arrangement, Beam will supply its satellite-based tracking terminals, data modems and short burst data airtime services, which MTData will integrate into its range of Next G enabled hardware and tracking solutions.
The partnership, which has an initial term of 24 months, will soon see the companies collaborating on trials of both a standalone satellite solution, and a dual-mode solution using both GSM and satellite technologies.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
