The New South Wales government is advertising for a family to live in its experimental 'smart home,’ and to blog about their experiences.
The successful applicants will be able to live in the home rent-free, with no charges for energy and water consumption.
They will trial energy and water efficient devices, remotely controlling applications using iPhones and a website, and new technologies like an electric car.
But at least one applicant must be an “experienced writer”, and the family must be “willing to share their experiences in this house on a regular basis via media, blogs and websites,” the advertisement reads.
