SingTel wins court battle against TMNC

Optus parent SingTel (ASX:SGT) has announced that the appeals arm of the New South Wales Supreme Court has found in its favour in a dispute with content provider The Movie Network Channels (TMNC).

TMNC had sued Optus Vision for almost $500 million in alleged missed license fees from a content supply agreement.

TMNC claimed a clause in the contract had been triggered, making Optus eligible for paying more fees, but Optus had denied the clause had taken effect.

Optus had already won one court battle over the dispute, but TMNC had appealed. The court has now thrown out that appeal.
