Tel.Pacific acquires billing platform used by VHA

Telecom calling card product developer Tel.Pacific (ASX:TPC) has completed the acquisition of the Mobile Real Time Monitoring (MRTM) intelligent network platform integrated into VHA's network.

Tel.Pacific paid $4 million to Service Stream for the acquisition of the MTRM platform, which includes all necessary hardware and software and associated IP.

The MRTM platform is an intelligent network switching solution integrated into the Vodafone Australia network. It has been designed to enable pre-paid corporate and government fleet management services.

Tel.Pacific said it had been forced to use the MRTM platform to develop its recent Hello Mobile prepaid range, even though it has its own real-time billing systems, in order to achieve its speed to market goals.

Now that Tel.Pacific has acquired MRTM it has complete control over the billing and management of Hello Mobile.

The platform is also used to provide services to existing customers - namely VHA and some of the operator's wholesale customers. Tel.Pacific said it planned to continue offering these services, which deliver revenue of around $1 million to the platform.
