mcm to deploy movideo platform for Ten

Media content distributor mcm entertainment group (ASX:MEG) has won a contract to deploy its movideo online video platform across Ten Network's (ASX:TEN) channel brands.

Under the arrangement, mcm's movideo subsidiary will install the platform across the web presence for channels Ten, One and the soon-to-be-launched Eleven.

The movideo platform was first developed by mcm entertainment in 2004 and then spun off into a separate business unit in 2008.

According to mcm, movideo is now used to deliver 7.2 million video, audio and advertising files per month to around one million users of mcm's internal and syndicated partner sites.

As part of the integration of the platform into Ten Digital, the network's Video Hits program will implement mcm's online proprietary music video and audio streaming service Digital Entertainment Network – which is powered by movideo – for music video streaming.

Network Ten selected movideo after a competitive tender process.

“The movideo platform and team demonstrated the best capabilities and skills to support our growing online video offering,” Ten chief digital media officer Nick Spooner said.

“With movideo, we'll be developing new functionality... to take our premium video offering to the next level.”

Tony McGinn, CEO of mcm entertainment, has meanwhile teased an announcement of a new partnership for movideo in the Asian media and marketing sector.
