Telstra launches managed network service

Telstra (ASX:TLS) has launched a suite of new enterprise network monitoring services.

The company on Thursday unveiled its Managed Data Networks service, which combines people power and automated alarm systems to oversee organisations' private network equipment and data throughput.

The bundle includes customised network design and installation, coupled with monthly reports and service restoration options.

Also packaged are security options such as government-grade encryption.

Telstra Enterprise and Government executive director John Paitaridis said Telstra's goal is to allow “organisations [to] shift to Tesltra the expensive and resource-intensive tasks of keeping their ICT networks running.”

He said the company aims to allow IT departments to integrate Managed Data Services with their existing ICT services.

The service comes in a range of configurations, including high-priority options that cut Telstra's fault repair deadline by up to 80%.

TLS shares grew 0.36% during Thursday's trading to $2.800.
