MIKOH signs US RFID deal

Security technology provider MIKOH (ASX:MIK) has announced its first US deal for its AVI vehicular RFID smart tag solution.

The company has been contracted to provide 250,000 headlamp tags using MIKOH's tamper evident technology, Smart&Secure and Destruct-on-Removal, for Sirit in the US.

The tags are part of MIKOH's Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) range.

Sirit, a subsidiary of the NYSE-listed Federal Signal Corporation, will use the units under license in a contract to provide an Electronic Toll Collection rollout in Washington. The tags will be deployed over the next three to six months as part of this rollout.

MIKOH did not provide the financial details of the agreement, but said it was modest in terms of revenue.

The company in March signed a five year, US$25 million ($25.6m) contract for an electronic vehicle registration project in Thailand.

MIK shares ended Thursday's trading unchanged at $0.042.
