New Zealand state owned telecom and broadcast company Kordia said its ISP arm Orcon has purchased SME and corporate service provider Bizo.
Bizo is a small operator concentrating on providing technology for commerce via online services, including digital connectivity, security, software and telecom services.
Orcon CEO Scott Bartlett said Bizo's offerings will round out his company's portfolio of business services.
“[Orcon customers] will now have access to... managed services within an integrated telecommunications company – a one-stop shop, if you will,” he said.
Bizo will continue to operate independently of Orcon retail, with its 22 staff to stay in their offices in the Auckland CBD, he said.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Kordia purchased Orcon in 2007 for NZ$24.3 million ($18.2 million).
As well as its extensive operations in New Zealand, including broadcasting, backhaul and retail services, Kordia also has a presence in Australia as a telecom contractor and consulting company.
