CloudCentral adds second data centre location

Cloud infrastructure service provider CloudCentral has arranged to make its cloud Infrastructure as a Service offerings available at a second data centre.

The company has announced it will offer services from the Equinix SY3 IBX data centre in Sydney from August 1.

Through agreements with ISPs, CloudCentral will offer connectivity into its new Sydney availability zone at speeds of up to 10Gbps.

CloudCentral already provides services through the TransACT data centre in Canberra.

Company CEO Kristoffer Sheathe said having two points of presence will allow its customers to provide latency-sensitive websites in areas as close to their target customers as possible.

“Operating two data centres is an integral part of our business continuity strategy,” he said.

He claims the expansion will make the company the only on-demand cloud infrastructure services provider in Australia with agreements with multiple data centres and guarantees that all data will be retained within the country.
