Mobile Embrace inks partnership deal

Business-to-business mobile services company Mobile Embrace (ASX:MBE) has signed a partnership deal with Modapt to provide a mobile website platform in the Australian market.

Modapt - Australian company which also has an office in Boston, USA – provides a platform to enable businesses to adapt their websites for viewing on a mobile device.

Under the agreement, Mobile Embrace will sell Modapt's software in Australia, and take over management of Modapt's sales pipeline and resellers in the market.

Mobile Embrace will also provide implementation and consultancy support for Modapt's USA resellers and customers.

Mobile Embrace managing director Neil Wiles said revenue from the contract will be generated from hosting, licensing and implementation fees.

He said the addition of the Modapt platform to its product portfolio “supports our aim to be the first place for business when looking to establish...an effective presence on mobile devices.”

Mobile Embrace swung to a $2.6 million loss in FY11, blaming difficult trading conditions, as well as investment costs as it moved to transform into a B2B-centric company.

MBE shares grew 5.88% on Tuesday to $0.018.
