BHP CFO resigns

BHP Billiton (ASX:BHP) today announced that Alex Vanselow, chief financial officer and group executive will retire from the mining organisation at the end of February.

Vanselow will be replaced by Graham Kerr, who originally joined BHP Billiton in 1994 and has served as finance director on the Ekati Diamond Mine and VP of finance for diamonds, before moving across to Iluka Resources for a little over a year.

Kerr returned to BHP in 2006 to take on the role of chief financial officer for BHP's stainless steel materials division and then took over as president of diamonds and specialty products.

BHP shares are trading at $34.84, which is 70c or 2.32% higher than Friday's close.
