Kogan has today unveiled two new budget, dual-core Android tablets that run the 4.1 Jelly Bean version of Google's Android operating system.

The Australian manufacturer and online retailer will sell the Agora Mini 8 and Agora 10in tablets from today, with prices starting at $119 and $179, respectively.

The new Agora-branded tablets come with dual core processors and are available in 8GB and 16GB variants.

The devices feature capacitive touchscreens with a resolution of 1024x768, come with a mini-HDMI port, have a microSD card slot to expand the built-in memory, and include a full-sized USB port.

The Agora Mini 8 has a front-facing VGA camera but no rear-facing camera while the larger 10in model comes with a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Kogan's founder and CEO, Ruslan Kogan, said customer feedback from previous Android tablets indicated the devices could have used a speed boost.

"People told us they thought the design was great, loved the price, but that they could’ve been just that bit snappier," he said. "We’ve been able to keep a slim, lightweight, design and retail all the features people want in tablets."

The new Agora tablets have 4300mAh and 8000mAh batteries, respectively. Both include 1GB of RAM and a 1.6GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor.

Both Agora Android tablets are available to order now with immediate shipping.
