Bluestone Global (ASX:BUE) has appointed Justin Owen as its acting CFO effective immediately, following the departure of Jean-Yves Didier due to personal reasons.
Owen has 25 years’ experience as a chartered accountant and was most recently an audit partner across public and private companies with Grant Thornton. His background includes stints in the energy and mining, construction and financial services sectors in the UK, China and New Zealand. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a fellow of the Securities Institute of Australasia.
Bluestone MD, Rabieh Krayem, welcomed Owen to the team.
“He will continue to implement the board’s mandate to deliver cost and efficiency savings within the Group while we maintain our focus on achieving sales growth in those sectors which are contributing to economic growth,” Krayem said.
The company’s chairman, Baljit Singh, thanked Didier for his contribution to the business and respected his decision to step down for personal reasons. Didier joined Bluestone Global under its former guise, Humanis Group, last August and was formerly CFO of Vanguard Investments Asia-Pacific.
“During his time as chief financial officer, Jean-Yves has overseen major operational and cost initiatives which have better positioned the group in what are tough trading conditions for the recruitment sector,” Singh said.
Among Bluestone’s recent activities was a joint venture with Singapore-based recruitment company, HCMI Group.
Humanis Group rebranded to Bluestone Group in December as part of efforts to create a more integrated brand positioning around its core Bluestone Recruitment business, which comprises 70 per cent of its total business.
