Telcos release pricing for Samsung Galaxy S4

All four major Australian telcos have released their pricing details for Samsung's Galaxy S4

All four major Australian telcos have released their pricing details for Samsung's Galaxy S4 Android phone.

Telstra

Telstra will sell the Galaxy S4 in selected stores from Saturday 27 April.

However, the company hasn't yet published full details of its pricing plans and is yet to open online pre-orders.

Telstra will offer the Galaxy S4 on a total of four plans, all over 24 months, but the offer Australia's largest telco seems keen on pushing is $7 per month on the $80 Freedom Connect plan ($87 per month).

This plan includes $800 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited text messages and 1.5GB of data per month.

Telstra will also sell the Galaxy S4 on its $60 and $100 Freedom Connect plans and its $130 unlimited plan, but it has yet to reveal exact pricing and handset repayments for these plans.

Telstra will sell the Samsung Galaxy S4 outright in "selected stores" for $816.

Optus

Optus has opened online pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 today.

The telco says it will have stock of the phone through limited Optus stores and retails partners from Saturday 27 April.

The company will sell the Galaxy S4 on a total of seven plans, ranging from a basic $30 plan to the top of the line $130 "Timeless" plan.

The hero offer appears to be a $7 handset repayment on the $60 Optus plan ($67 per month) over 24 months. This plan includes $650 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited SMS messages and 1.5GB of data.

Existing Optus customers who renew their contract on plans $50 and above will receive an extra 1GB of data per month for the life of the 24 month contract.

Optus is also offering Qantas Frequent Flyer points on $60 plans and above. It will provide 8000 frequent flyer points to existing customers who renew their contract, and 4000 frequent flyer points for any new customers.

Vodafone

Vodafone has opened pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 today.

The phone is available on a total of six plans, but the hero offer appears to be $5 per month on Vodafone's $60 plan ($65 per month) over 24 months.

This plan includes $700 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited SMS messages and 1.5Gb of data per month.

On plans $60 per month and above, Vodafone will offer an extra 1GB of data for the first 12 months. This offer applies until Friday 31 May.

Vodafone is currently quoting a delivery time of three business days for pre-orders of the "black mist" variant of the Galaxy S4, while "white frost" models list a five business day delivery time.

Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile has announced its plans and pricing for the Galaxy S4.

Unlike Optus and Vodafone, the company isn't opening online orders until Saturday 27 April.

Virgin will sell the Galaxy S4 on a total of five plans, all over 24 months. The hero offer is $7 per month handset repayments on Virgin's Big Plan $59, for a total of $66 per month.

This plan includes $700 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited SMS messages and 3GB of data per month.

Existing Virgin Mobile customers who re-contract with the Samsung Galaxy S4 before Sunday 30 June will have handset repayments reduced from $7 per month to $2 per month on this plan.
