Former Procter & Gamble MD replaces Nick Leeder

Google Australia and New Zealand has appointed Procter & Gamble (P&G) boss Maile Carnegie as its new managing director.

Carnegie joined P&G straight from university and has spent more than 20 years in P&G roles in Australia, Singapore and the United States, Mumbrella reported on Thursday.

Carnegie replaces Nick Leeder, who quit the post in March to take up the role of country director for Google France.

In a BRW profile in March, Carnegie said P&G promotes from within the company, which meant she was “given the opportunities, training and tools to achieve my career goals from a very early stage in my career.”

She will start at Google on July15.
