Is Your Business Ready for iOS 7?

Forget the new and powerful iPhone 5S or the colorful and cheap iPhone 5C: The biggest draw to the iPhone is the upcoming iOS 7, which is jam-packed with features that make the iPhone business-friendly.

The major upgrade was first unveiled at Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference earlier this spring and has been in the hands of developers ever since. Now iOS 7 is poised to hit the general public in a week, Sept. 18.

If Apple's upgrade track record is any indication, just about everyone with a relatively new device -- iOS 7 works on iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini and fifth-generation iPod touch -- will upgrade to iOS 7 almost immediately.

Companies with enterprise iOS apps have been given plenty of time to prime their apps for iOS 7. They also know the score after having gone through the iOS 6 upgrade. But are they ready?

A recent survey from enterprise mobility company Cortado suggests that a good portion of them have a lot of catching up to do. Cortado surveyed 1,350 IT directors and administrators to access the impact of iOS7 in the enterprise. A whopping 42.5 percent said, "I don't know."
