ASG Group has won an $11.5 million contract with the Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI) in Victoria to provide cloud-based hosting and managed services.
The department will be the first Victorian agency to migrate to ASG’s ‘New World’ cloud computing and will be deployed on ASG’s Australian-based cloud data centre.
The three-year contract includes options for a two-year extension.
“This deal with DEPI supports the Victorian government’s overarching IT strategy, which seeks to revitalise agencies’ business processes through outcomes-based technology,” Geoff Lewis, ASG’s managing director, said in a statement.
“This is a real trend as we see similar far-reaching initiatives by the federal government and some state governments, including Queensland, to modernise their processes. We are confident that our discussions with a number of government agencies will lead to similar agreements in [the] coming months.”
ASG has signed a number of agreements with public and private organisations for its New World cloud solution, including an $11.3 million contract with the Department of Housing in Western Australia.
