Horror tech run continues for NAB

Third round of tech outages for bank

NAB has suffered its third round of service outages in the space of a week, with the bank suffering problems with its Internet banking platform and payment processing.

“NAB is experiencing outages to some of our services,” a spokesperson for the bank said

ATM withdrawals and EFTPOS transactions are unaffected, the spokesperson said.

“We’re doing our best and we’ll work with you through our branches and our contact centre. Our teams are working hard to resolve this and we’re sorry for the impact this is causing.

“We’ll continue to provide customers with regular updates.”

The bank yesterday apologised after customers were left unable to withdraw their money from ATMs or make transactions at EFTPOS terminals using their NAB debit or credit cards.

Some NAB merchant terminals and HICAPS were also hit by the problem, with the bank yet to confirm the cause of the outage.

A week ago a major outage hit a range of NAB services including customer call centres, Mobile Internet Banking and the processing of some payments.

NAB is currently seeking a chief technology and operations officer (CTOO).
