NSW DoJ seeking final IT exec to support CIO Aaron Liu

New South Wales Department of Justice is seeking its fifth and final director to deliver its ICT strategy.

The department has appointed four executive IT directors in the last three months, each reporting to CIO Aaron Liu, and is now seeking a fifth in the Digital Technology Services branch.

The position is the last vacancy in a refreshed executive structure of the department's technology team, which is responsible for delivering IT services to 11,000-plus employees working in legal, court and supervision services. Its work covers a network of agencies including corrective services, emergency services, courts and tribunal services, justice policy and strategy, and police policy.

The successful candidate for the role, which was listed this week, will have seven direct reports and be responsible for budgets and expenditure of both capital and operational funds to the value of $20 million.

They will be expected to work in close collaboration with the department’s various business units and drive the day to day functional delivery of digital services and programs.

The candidate will join recent fellow IT executive director level appointments: director strategy and engagement, former Mission Australia CIO, Richard Walsh; director governance, former NSW Police Force CIO, Julie Roberts; director operations, Andrew Dimech who joins from a head of IT role at Quantium; and internal appointment Karrie Pattingale, former program director for ERP-as-a-Service at the department.

The role is based in Parramatta and applications will be accepted until November 29.
