ASX to build new $32m data centre

ASX Limited (ASX:ASX) intends to build a new $32 million data centre near the Sydney CBD, to support expanded backup and co-location service requirements.
The new centre is expected to be completed in August 2011, and should be operational “within a few months of that date,” ASX said in a statement.
The expected $32 million cost – the majority of which will be incurred in 2H11 – is incremental to the ASX's existing capex guidance of $25 million for the full year.
ASX intends to reduce its headline fees and introduce a range of new services in the coming months, and the new data centre will help it achieve those goals, the company added.
