ipernica (ASX:IPR) appoints NearMap founder to board

Technology and IP commercialization company ipernica (ASX:IPR) has appointed Stuart Nixon, founder of its NearMap aerial mapping subsidiary, to its board.

Nixon is ipernica's second largest shareholder, with a 12% stake.

The company has also hired Simon Crowther as CEO of the NearMap unit. ipernica said this hire will allow Nixon to focus on NearMap's innovation and competitive advantage.

Crowther was selected after a six-month search for a suitable candidate. He has a mixture of sales, media and international skills that should be ideal for the company, ipernica added.
