NextDC awarded ISO quality management certification

NextDC (ASX: NXT) has received a quality management system certification from the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).
The certification, entitled ISO9001: 2008, is for the design, development and provision of secured data centre infrastructure and associated services. It covers the company’s Brisbane head office and its three data centres in Brisbane (B1), Melbourne (M1) and Canberra (C1).
According to NextDC CEO Craig Scroggie, it also intends to apply for ISO certification of its Sydney (S1) and Perth (P1) facilities once these data centres are built.

On 16 May, the company announced that its S1 facility achieved practical completion.
This meant the builder has certified the development was completed in accordance with the contract, except for minor omissions or defects.
Because NextDC completed practical completion for the S1 facility, Asia Pacific Data Centre Group (APDC) must pay an S1 development fee of $45.5 million to the company.
The S1 lease between NextDC and APDC is for an initial term of 15 years with the option of a further 25 years.
