Tech chief at the telco leaving to take role overseas

Telstra CIO Patrick Eltridge has resigned after four years with the company, the telco confirmed today.

In a statement provided to CIO, a Telstra spokesperson said Eltridge recently informed the company he would be leaving to explore international opportunities. His last day is November 28.

Eltridge confirmed to CIO that he had taken a role overseas, but declined to comment further.

The spokesperson said Telstra had begun a global search to replace Eltridge in the CIO role. He had been with the company since 2010.

Eltridge was head of strategy & architecture, group technology & operations at Standard Charter Bank in Singapore between 2008 and 2010.

Prior to that, he CIO of Westpac's business and consumer banking division, and CIO at seek.com.au.
