AGL appoints CFO to head IT

Energy company, AGL, on Monday announced that its current CFO, Brett Redman, will lead its new finance and technology group.
The appointment follows last month’s executive restructure, which saw long serving CIO, Owen Coppage, leave the company. AGL’s new structure has seven core business units, one of which is finance and technology.
The new IT and business partnering, technology services, business analytics, and IT strategy and architecture – which all sit within the IT function, are reporting to Redman.
Other business units under AGL’s new structure include new energy, energy market operations, stakeholder relations, group operations, organisational transformation, and people and culture.
A digital and customer experience units sits underneath energy market operations.
Redman has been CFO at AGL since November 2012 and prior to this role, he was head of group strategy and finance.
Redman was director of information services, South Pacific at BOC between March and October 2007, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The AGL restructure would deliver cost savings and involve some modest headcount reductions, AGL CEO, Andy Vesey said last month.
