Adobe inks Dropbox deal, adds Document Cloud features

Adobe Document Cloud and Acrobat Reader users can now access and take common actions on 18 billion PDF files located in Dropbox directly within the Adobe apps, following a new agreement between the companies.
Dropbox users can now open, edit, and save changes to PDF documents in the Adobe apps directly from the Dropbox website, iOS or Android app.
Adobe has also unveiled new e-sign capabilities in Adobe Document Cloud, a service that enables users to digitise documents and store them in the cloud using a consistent online profile and personal document hub.
A new drag and drop Workflow Designer enables users to create workflow templates for senders to follow a consistent signing process. A new function also enables users to correct documents ‘in flight’ when the wrong document has been sent by mistake.
The company also released Adobe eSign Manager DC, an upgraded mobile app companion for Document Cloud eSign and Adobe Acrobat DC.
The app enables users to sign e-documents and forms, send them for a signature, track responses in real time, and get instant signatures with in-person signing. Enterprise mobility management features enable administrators to manage employees’ Document Cloud mobile apps and devices using Android for Work, and soon, Good Technology and Microsoft Intune.
Signature Capture lets people use their mobile device camera to take a photo of their handwritten signature once and use it to sign documents again and again.
Finally, Adobe’s e-signature capabilities have been integrated with Workday’s business process framework. This enables Adobe eSign users to add e-signatures to around 400 business processes across the Workday app suite.
The company has also integrated its eSign services with the Ariba Contract Management and Salesforce CRM platforms.
Mark Grilli, VP, Adobe Document Services, told CIO that Adobe has processed 150 million agreements worldwide for the Document Cloud product since its launch in April this year.
"We are seeing substantial growth in the business and Australia and New Zealand is one of our important high growth areas," he said.
