Conrad Harvey lands at Linfox

Supermarket veteran moves into logistics

Former Coles CIO, Conrad Harvey, is the new IT chief at logistics company Linfox. Harvey is replacing Morgan Hurwitz.

Harvey left his role as managing director at digital organisation, Certanti last month, according to his LinkedIn profile. He is also currently a board member at Victorian government IT service provider, CenITex, a role that he has held since December 2013.

But the South African is best known for his 10 year stint at supermarket giant, Coles. Harvey was brought on as a program director for a merchandising systems refresh at Coles in May 2003 before taking on the role of general manager of IT strategy, architecture and program delivery in 2004.

Harvey became IT group general manager across a team of more than 700 staff following Wesfarmers’ acquisition of the Coles Group in 2007. He was heavily involved in a business transformation under Wesfarmers.

Harvey declined to comment further on his appointment at Linfox when contacted by CIO Australia on Friday afternoon.

Linfox CEO Annette Carey, said Harvey's appointment will help Linfox to further advance its industry-leading IT and proprietary software systems.

"We welcome Conrad to the Linfox team and look forward to his leadership in this area of our business," Carey said.
