James Turner

Research Director, CISO Lens

James Turner is the founder of CISO Lens, where he works with the security leaders from the largest organisations across Australia and New Zealand. James facilitates connections and collaboration, and helps share strategic information across organisations, industries and countries. Since 2005, James has specialised as an information security industry analyst and advisor. In this capacity, he gathers, curates and disseminates information that is of strategic importance to cyber risk management. In 2018 James launched the CISO Lens Benchmark, an annual report providing independent, local, and current information for local technology and security executives. From 2007 to 2018, James was an Advisor at IBRS where he established the CIO Cyber and Risk Network. Now, as an emeritus Advisor at IBRS, James continues to chair the gatherings of this group. From 2013 to 2016, James volunteered as an official spokesperson for the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) and was the appointed Chair of AISA’s Advocacy group. James also writes opinion pieces for the Australian Financial Review on national cyber security issues.

Dimitrios Pendarakis

Distinguished Engineer, Chief Security Officer, IBM Cognitive Systems

Dimitrios Pendarakis is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and the Chief Security Officer for IBM Cognitive Systems. In this role, Dimitrios helps formulate and execute the security strategy and roadmap of IBM Power Systems at the hardware, firmware, systems software, and cloud offerings, in collaboration with the development and offering management organizations, as well as ecosystem partners and other IBM business units. During his more than 20 years with IBM, Dimitrios has been instrumental in driving critical innovations across IBM systems and services. His early work in networking and security research largely defined the areas of Internet policy control and application layer multicast. Dimitrios holds more than 60 patents, his technical thought leadership has resulted in numerous high impact academic publications, and he’s an active speaker at leading conferences.

Chris Hockings

CTO, IBM Security

Chris Hockings is a regional CTO for IBM Security. He is responsible for representing the IBM global security innovation strategy and vision to the local market, engaging with leaders across the industry and driving innovative partnerships with clients on emerging technology.
Chris is an IBM Master Inventor, a title that reflects a sustained contribution to IBM Security’s patent portfolio. Chris is CISSP certified.
