Byron Connolly

Editor-in-Chief, CIO Australia

Byron Connolly is a highly experienced technology and business journalist and editor with 20 years’ experience. As the editor-in-chief of CIO Australia he is responsible for commissioning, writing and editing content that appears on www.cio.com.au, published by IDG Communications – Australia. Byron also facilitates roundtables and conferences for senior IT and business executives and creates content from these events.

Prior to this role, Byron was a senior writer and editor at Editor Group, a Sydney-based corporate writing agency, where he produced editorial material for some of the world’s top technology and consulting companies.

Byron was editor of technology channel publication, CRN Australia, published by Haymarket Media Group, and held senior editorial roles at technology publications ITNews and Information Week at Penton Media and APN News and Media.

He was also client services director at public relations firm Upstream Australia (now Bite Global).

Alan Pritchard

Director, EMR and ICT Services, Austin Health

Alan is passionate about using technology to deliver superior health outcomes and putting consumers at the centre of their care. His open and collaborative leadership style encourages and empowers people to bring their best and deliver exceptional results.

At Austin Health since 2018, as Director of EMR and ICT Services Alan leads a team of 70 permanent staff to deliver customer focussed support services and transformational business change. Alan has previously held senior technology leadership roles in private healthcare organisations and ran his own consultancy focussed on Business Process Offshoring.

With an MBA from Melbourne Business School and Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from Cambridge University, his working life started as a Veterinary Surgeon before he moved into the pharmaceutical industry where he gained his first experience working with the public health system. This breadth of experience enables him to consider complex problems through the perspectives of multiple stakeholders and make technology strategy accessible to business leaders.

Christopher Sassone

Consumption Sales Director: Australia and New Zealand at Intel Corporation

Chris currently leads the Business Consumption Team responsible for Intel Sales to corporate customers for ANZ region.
Previously, Chris was the Data Center Sever expert for Australia and New Zealand tasked with driving Intel data center solutions into the market. Prior to that Chris was the APAC account manager for the High Performance Data division – and worked with top HPC accounts in the region.
